How to Decorate an Indiana Jones Cake
- 1). Slice the cake in half and add a layer of fruit filling between the layers, if desired. Frost the cake on the top and sides smooth with frosting, making sure it is evenly spread.
- 2). Order an edible image frosting sheet on-line. Select from Indiana Jones images and order well in advance so you receive your edible image in time. Place the image on the cake and pipe a shell border on the sides to finish the cake. To make a shell border, attach a star icing tip to a piping bag filled with frosting and pipe in a continuous pattern, holding the bag at a 45 degree angle.
- 3). Purchase an Indiana Jones cake decorating kit to get props that can be placed on the frosted cake. Use color sprays to dye the top of the cake with dark green and brown. Pipe leaves and thin vines on the cake with green frosting. Make leaves with icing by attaching a leaf icing tip to a piping bag and piping green icing in short strokes. Make vines by attaching a small round icing tip to a piping bag filled with green frosting and pipe long swirling lines around the cake.
- 4). Make a pyramid-shaped cake inspired by Indiana Jones and the Pyramid Sorcerer by stacking two cakes on top of each other and carving the sides to make a pyramid. Remove excess cake by slicing the sides from center top cake down to the perimeter of the bottom cake. Frost the cake smooth with icing and spray brown and orange color on the cake. Scatter gold coin chocolates around the cake and place plastic amulets around the cake to give it an Egyptian touch.
