How to Adjust to a Warmer Climate
- 1). Keep yourself hydrated. The most important thing for your body when it is adjusting to a warmer climate is that you drink plenty of water. If you have children, give each child his own water bottle, and make sure he drinks a good amount throughout the day, particularly during outdoor activities.
- 2). Avoid direct sunlight. When temperatures are soaring, spending even a little time in the sun can be hard on someone who hasn't had time to adjust to the hot climate. Avoid going outdoors during the warmest parts of the day. Only do strenuous exercise in the early morning or evening when temperatures are cooler.
- 3). Use air conditioning if you have it. A climate-controlled environment for at least part of the day can make the transition to a warmer climate easier on your body. If you don't have air conditioning, run a fan or take a cool shower.
