How to Wash Windows With Water & Vinegar

    • 1). Fill a new, clean spray bottle half-full of warm water. Fill it nearly the rest of the way full with plain white vinegar. Most grocery stores carry white distilled vinegar on the baking and cooking supplies aisle.

    • 2). Add 1/2 tsp. of liquid soap. According to care2.com, adding a little soap increases the cleaning power of vinegar, especially if you've previously used commercial glass cleaner (which may have left a difficult-to-remove residue on the windows). You can try just straight water and vinegar on your windows first, if you prefer to do so.

    • 3). Spray your windows with the solution, from the top of the windows to the bottom. Wipe them down, using an up and down motion with a soft cloth.

    • 4). Spray the windows again if any dirt, streaks or cloudiness remains. Wipe the windows with a fresh clean cloth. Clean both the interior and exterior sides of your windows for best results.
