A lot of software testing, software developing and other companies related to information technology appear nowadays. Information technology attracts many people because it is profitable and interesting occupation.

Not all the start-ups are successful, some teams are good in programming or performing mobile testing, desktop testing or web site testing, some fail and disappear quickly.

It is hard to find the general reason of prosperity of some companies and failure of the others. Experts in IT business claim that successful work in this field largely depends on proper work organization. Each project is unique, it is important to select the right team members and organize the suitable management.

Selecting Stuff for a Project, Managers Should Consider:

- the activities that should be performed, their complexity;

- skills, knowledge and personal qualities of the people.

Proper work organization plays an important role. It has been noticed that teams with one or two prominent, irreplaceable members are not as efficient as teams, where all the members pursue one goal and share responsibility for their common work.

A Team Usually Works Effectively if the Team Members:

- feel comfortable and have good business relationships with each other;

- share responsibility for their failures and advantages from the success;

- clearly understand the project goals;

- know their places and roles in the team;

- can perform tasks independently and together with the colleagues.

One of the main aspects of a team work is a good, reliable leadership. Many managerial abilities can be developed if a person wants it and works hard at it.

An Efficient Manager Should:

- have deep understanding of the project goal, current tasks;

- share the responsibility for the tasks together with the team;

- be able to allocate tasks considering the team members' skills, knowledge and personal qualities;

- support and encourage the team members;

- help to cope with difficult tasks, give practical suggestions;

- guide the team members and correct their mistakes;

- quickly orient in any situation, take advantage of it and make the right decisions.

Some managers prefer autocratic leadership style and don't find it necessary to explain the employees the ultimate goals of the project, their roles in achieving the goals, why they have been selected for the team. They think that it is enough for the employees just to perform their tasks.

Many team leads, whose teams work at functional testing, usability testing, security testing, believe that wide knowledge of the project and combination of independent work with sharing common goals increase efficiency of the team. Under such conditions people are encouraged to think, be creative, use unconventional approaches. No mobile application testing, desktop testing, web site testing is successful without it.
