Thank a veteran.
Such a simple concept with such huge implications.
When I was in the service, U.
S.
NAVY 76-80,the majority of people on active duty were regular Navy, Army, Air Force, Marines and of course Coast Guard..
We all signed up for 4 or 6 year hitches.
It was our job for the duration of our contract.
We may have been at peace, war or just in tiny conflicts, anywhere in the world.
Thanks were not easily found during that time, or expected.
Although, it would have been nice to be appreciated.
Today, however we are at war and the majority of serving members of our armed forces are reservists and citizen soldiers.
The National guard.
All of these men and woman are putting their lives on the line for us over and over again.
This is so we can have our freedom and way of life! Now more than ever, We as a nation of Free people, need to ensure that our veterans know they are thanked and appreciated by us.
Thank You to all of our veterans.
Serving and having previously served.
Last but not least, thank a veteran's family.
The military dependent's are also serving our country by their acts of dedication and sacrifice.
They are here worrying and praying every day for their loved one(s) to be safe.
Most of these dependents did not volunteer to be in the position they are in.
Their loved one came home one day and announced to their loved ones, "Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa, or Honey- I just joined the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps or the Coast Guard! Thank you all for everything you must do and endure for us.
Happy Veterans Day AMERICA!! Thank a Vet and their families.
Not just November 11 2010, but everyday!
