How to Stop Format Changes With RTF to PDF
- 1). Go to www.primopdf.com and click "Download Free" to download PrimoPDF. Save the file to your computer's hard drive, then open the file and follow the on-screen instructions to install the application.
- 2). Open your RTF file. Depending on your computer, this file will open in Microsoft Word, OpenOffice Writer or Wordpad. Check that the RTF file looks the way you intend it to.
- 3). Click "File" and select "Print." Don't use your regular printer, but instead open the dropdown menu of printer selections. Do this by clicking in the white bar with your printer's name in it. Select"PrimoPDF Printer" from the menu, then click "Print." PrimoPDF will open.
- 4). In the PrimoPDF window, click once in the "Save As" textbox and type the file name you want to use for the PDF. You can also click the folder icon next to the "Save As" textbox to select where you'd like to save your file.
- 5). Click "Create PDF." Now you can send your PDF file to people without worrying that the format or fonts will be changed.
