Khandesh
Khandesh lies in northwestern corner of Deccan plateau. It is bound to north by Satpura Range. Burhanpur, Nadurbar, Dhule, Jalgaon are the districts of Kandesh. Ancient culture is followed all over Khandesh. It also follows culture of Arya, Non-Arya, Mughal & Buddha. Many musical concerts have been performed in Jalgoan. An event named as Khandesh festival takes place in Jalgoan.
Desh
Desh is at the west of Maharashtra bounded by Sahyadri Range. Pune, Kolhapur, Sangli, Satara, Solhapur are the districts of Desh. The largest city of desh is Pune. Pune is well-known for its education. Pune is called as The Oxford of the east. Pune follows the traditional Maharashtrian culture as well as modern culture. Many religious & different speaking languages people reside in Pune. Ganpati Festival is the most popular festival celebrated in Desh.
Konkan
The western coastline of Maharashtra is called as Konkan. Konkan has Tapi River in the north and Chandragiri River at the south. Mumbai, Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurga are the districts of konkan. Mumbai, Raigad, Ratnagiri are the best tourist places of Maharashtra. Konkan coast has many beaches. Harihareshwar, Alibag, Akshi & Nagoan, Murud, Kelshi, etc. are the best beaches of Maharashtra. Raigad, Mahableshwar, Matheran are well known hill stations of Maharashtra located in Konkan region.
