    • 1). Turn on the receiver and television, if the receiver has an on-screen setup display.

    • 2). Turn the dial on the sound pressure level meter to 75 decibels. Flip the switches on the front to "C" weighting and "Slow" response.

    • 3). Press "Setup" or "Menu" on the receiver's remote control to access the setup menu. Scroll to the "Channel Adjust," "Levels," or other similar name. Consult your receiver's owners manual if necessary to ascertain the correct menu entry.

    • 4). Hold the SPL meter at ear height, pointed at the ceiling. Begin the test tones on the receiver.

    • 5). Adjust the sliders on the individual channels using the directional buttons on the receiver's remote. Watch the needle on the SPL meter. Each channel is correctly adjusted when the test tone causes the needle on the meter to point straight up.

    • 6). Press "Exit" or "Menu" repeatedly until you exit the setup menu.
