The Instructions for Towing a Jeep Wrangler
- 1). Check that the Jeep Wrangler engine is turned off. If it is not off, turn it off.
- 2). Press the brake petal and shift the automatic transmission into neutral. Depress the clutch if driving a manual transmission.
- 3). Shift the transfer case into "N" (Neutral) and start the engine.
- 4). Place the automatic transmission into drive. If driving a manual transmission, put it into gear.
- 5). Move your foot off the brake pedal. There should be no vehicle movement.
- 6). Turn your Jeep Wrangler off and put the ignition to the "ACC" position.
- 7). Shift the automatic transmission into park and apply the parking brake.
- 8). Attach the vehicle tow bar, then release the parking brake.
- 9). Disconnect the negative battery cable and stow it safely.
- 1). Check that the engine is off.
- 2). Shift into neutral. Press the clutch if driving a manual transmission.
- 3). Shift the transfer case into 2H or another desired setting.
- 4). Start the engine and put the transmission into drive. If driving a manual transmission, release the clutch after starting the engine.
