Your girlfriend has left...
slammed the door and vows never to return.
I realize some of you guys don't think she means it and will be back before the day is over...
or at least before breakfast.
You automatically think that you "have to get my girlfriend back".
Before you go down that path, you have some things to think about and to set up first.
First are you wanting her back because you can't see yourself alone? You think the fight was stupid and she should know you didn't mean all the stuff you said about her gaining weight.
Is she a trophy for you to show off to your friends? Unless its the fact that you love her and life would not be complete without her, you are in trouble.
Everyone deserves a second chance at getting back together with their ex but you also need to be aware of some things.
If you come across as too desperate or needy then you can be sure she will run for the hills.
You need to regain some control over your emotions and how you express them.
Remember that if she thinks you are stalking her in any way you are likely to be talking to the Police.
I understand the desperation of wanting your ex back but she is not the one to unburden yourself to.
For goodness do not start crying and begging her to come back.
You both need to be respected and that type of behaviour will not get you want you want and that is her back by your side.
Talking to a friend might be a way to shed some light on how someone else saw your relationship.
Did you come across as too controlling or needy? Did you appreciate your ex girlfriend? Remember that women (and since I am one I can say this) need to be appreciated in any relationship and not taken for granted.
This time apart can be used to learn about yourself and change some things about what went wrong.
Take the time to learn some new coping skills.
Do not chase your ex around town "showing" her how much you have changed.
Give it a couple of weeks before you even call her.
By this time you should have a working knowledge of what went wrong and what not to do again.
As I said before, everyone deserves a second chance.
She loved you in the beginning and its your job to recapture that.
Show her, by actions, that she is special to you but that is also her own person.
If you follow these guideline you stand a good chance of getting your ex girlfriend back in your arms.
