How to Draw 5 Point Star

    • 1). Place your pencil in the desired starting point. For this method, the starting point will compose the bottom left leg of the star. Angle the straightedge to the right, and determine where you would like the top of the star to be located.

    • 2). Draw a line from the starting point to where you want the top of the star to be. Maneuver the straightedge to create the bottom right leg of the star; with top of the star as your starting point, draw a line downward. The line should stop horizontally even with your original starting point.

    • 3). Mark where the left middle arm should be located. Using that as the guide, move the straightedge so the bottom right leg and the middle left arm can be connected, and draw a line with your pencil. Mark where the right arm should be located, move the straightedge as needed and draw a horizontal line linking the left and right arms of the star.

    • 4). Draw a straight line from the right arm diagonally downward to the original starting point, the left leg of the star. If you wish to keep the internal lines, you are finished. To remove the lines, simply employ the eraser.

    • 5). For a non-linear star, use the same motions listed above, but instead of using a straightedge to connect the dots, use slightly curved lines.

    • 6). If you want a five-point star with straight lines but without marking the inside of the star, keep the straightedge handy. Make a series of five triangles without the bottom line, allowing the bottom points to connect and form the star.
