US Constitution and Bill of Rights - Where Does Freedom Fit on the Political Spectrum?
The US Constitution asserted"We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union...
secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity...
" The Bill of Rights restricted government from infringing on our liberties.
And thus began a new political philosophy based on Freedom and Human Rights: A Republic, a government of, by and for the people.
But where does this form of government fit on the political spectrum? Look, but you won't find it.
Government based on freedom and human rights seems to have never taken seriously by the European elite and was never included on what is now referred to as the Traditional Political Spectrum.
As discovered in recent research, the extremes of the political spectrum are not Communism and Fascism, (both oppressive governments).
Yes, Communism maintains its position on the Far left (many examples exist which show its actual result of enslavement and impoverishment of entire societies), and yes, just to the right of Communism is Fascism (which oppresses minorities and puts the solidity of the State above all else).
But the spectrum doesn't end with Fascism, it spans further to the right, toward freedom and self governance.
As one move to the right of Fascism, the next level up (from the oppressive governments of Communism and Fascism) is Socialism (a milder form of communism) which collects dependent citizens like dogs collect fleas.
Move rightward toward freedom and one hits Democracy.
This is Group Rule and minorities tend to suffer under Majority Rule law.
Move right toward freedom and you have a Constitutional Republic, with its full concepts of government of, by and for the people.
Enslavement vs.
Freedom: that is the basis of the political Spectrum.
The founding fathers knew the fate of societies and governments.
And to prevent our Republic from becoming oppressive, the Bill of Rights, (the first 10 Amendments to the US Constitution) was created to restrict Federal Government from infringing on such liberties as Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Religion and the right to bear arms.
The US Republic is rightfully the inheritor of the far right of the political spectrum.
No other government system on Earth has provided so much freedom to so many.
However, the US has been steadily sliding toward the left, away from freedom, almost from its beginnings.
Our government, instead of working for a better freedom for all, has steadily moved leftward and our freedoms have been incrementally reduced, for all.
Have you noticed even the most learned commentators refer to America as a Democracy? That's one step to the left, away from freedom for all.
Who ultimately is responsible for preventing this slide to the left? Our government? No, we the people; you and I.
Freedom is still our banner.
Is our country deteriorating because it's getting old or are there organized forces battering at freedom within our government walls? Get informed.
What you don't know could hurt you.
