  Norwegian Cruise Lines is the only cruise ship company that hosts cruises that dock solely within the Hawaiian Islands. It gained the exclusive right to offer such cruises in 2003, after President George W. Bush signed a bill granting them these rights. Previously, American Classic Voyages held the exclusive rights to inter-island cruises in the Hawaiian Islands, but the company went bankrupt in 2001. Currently Norwegian Cruise Lines offers two versions of a seven-day cruise that stops at four of the Hawaiian Islands.
  
  

Inter-Island Hawaiian Cruise Itinerary

• Norwegian Cruise Lines' inter-island Hawaiian cruises start and end in Honolulu, with overnights in Kahului, Maui and Kauai. The cruise also visits Hilo and Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii.
  
  

Shore Excursions on Oahu

• Norwegian Cruise Lines offers almost 100 shore excursions with its inter-island Hawaiian cruise lines. On Oahu, shore excursions can visit Pearl Harbor and the USS Arizona Memorial Visitors Center, as well as the National Memorial Cemetery in the Punchbowl. Another excursion takes visitors to the North Shore of Oahu, including visits to Waimea Bay and the Banzai Pipeline.
  
  

Shore Excursions on Kauai

• A shore excursion on Kauai for guests 21 years and older is a trip to a luau held on the grounds of a sugar plantation. Also available is a helicopter tour visiting parts of the island inaccessible any other way. Road tours take guests along roads otherwise unavailable to the public, with a stop at Kilohana Crater. Visits to the historical Kilohana Manor House are also available. Another shore excursion takes golfers to a Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course with breathtaking views.
  
  

Shore Excursions on Maui

• Shore excursions on Maui include visits to the Iao Needle, macadamia nut plantations and the Maui Ocean Center. An early morning excursion heads to the peak of Haleakala, Hawaii's largest volcano at over 10,000 feet above sea level, in time for the sunrise. Also available at Haleakala are a zip line adventure and a journey along the twisting and beautiful road to Hana. Shopping tours to the town of Lahaina are also available.
  
  

Shore Excursions on the Big Island of Hawaii

• On the Big Island of Hawaii, a unique shore excursion features a Zodiac raft ride and snorkeling adventure in Kealakekua Bay, where you're likely to see spinner dolphins, sea turtles and humpback whales. Another excursion includes an exploration of Kona's famous coffee plantations and a visit to Pu'uhonua O Honaunau National Historical Park. Yet another excursion travels to Volcanoes National Park and Mt. Kilauea, and includes a walk through a lava tube. A unique shore excursion takes visitors under water in a submarine to explore a coral reef.

• All Norwegian Cruise Lines inter-island Hawaiian tours are aboard the Pride of America, a ship with 14 restaurants and nine bars. The ship also features a tennis court, a gyrosphere, a teen club, meeting rooms, a spa, a pool and a conservatory.
