    Set-Up

    • Check to make sure that your pool filter is clean, and change it if necessary. The universal wall fitting included with your Polaris pool cleaner is designed to fit pools with a threaded 1 1/2 inch female pipe fitting and dedicated cleaner return line. To install the universal wall fitting, turn on your pool's filtration pump, flush the plumbing line, then turn the pump off. Assemble the pieces of the universal wall fitting and screw into the dedicated return line. Once you have installed the universal wall fitting you must adjust the feed hose of your Polaris cleaner to fit your pool. The hose should reach to within 6 inches of the farthest point of your pool. If the hose is too long, you can cut the excess link from the first section of the hose and then reconnect it. If the hose is too short for your pool, you can purchase additional hose sections from an authorized Polaris dealer. Once you have determined the correct length for the feed hose you can position the hose floats. Ideally, floats should be between 1 1/2 to 3 feet apart.

    Assembly

    • Assembling your Polaris pool cleaning system is easy and can be done is just a few simple steps. Start by attaching the feed hose connector to the feed pipe. This is done by pushing on the two pieces until you hear them snap together. Use the velcro straps to secure the ends of the filter bag to the hose. Once the bag has been secured, turn on the pool filtration pump, allow it to prime and then turn on the booster pump.

After assembling your Polaris pool cleaning system you must test the wheel rotations per minute before use. Turn the Polaris pool cleaner over to the side with one wheel and note the mark on the wheel. Turn on the pump, immerse the cleaner and count the wheel rotations for one minute. For best results, the Polaris pool cleaning system should be operating at between 32 and 36 rotations per minute.

    Use

    • The Polaris pool cleaning system is operated by turning on and off the pool's filtration pump. The cleaning system can be used as often as is desired, but should always be removed before swimmers enter the pool. The Polaris should also be removed before chemical shock treatments and cleaning or backwashing the pool filter.

    Care and Maintenance

    • Proper care and maintenance will help ensure that your Polaris pool cleaning system continues to function at its best. The filter bag should be emptied when it is half full, or more frequently if the majority of the dirt collected is sand. To empty the filter bag, undo the velcro strip and remove the clip that holds the bag to the cleaner. Open the zipper on the bag and empty the collected dirt.

At the end of the season, remove the Polaris from your pool and make sure all the water is drained from it. Store your Polaris cleaner in a cool location that is out of direct sunlight.
