Hawaiian Airlines, Inc was founded in 1929, and currently has a fleet of 35 aircraft, based out of the islands of Honolulu and Oahu. In addition to daily inter-island flights, the airline also offers service to the western United States and select locations in the Pacific, including American Samoa, Australia and the Philippines. The airline's baggage requirements vary based on the travel destination. Baggage contents must comply with U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) standards. - Passengers traveling to the continental U.S. will be charged $25 for the first and $35 for a second checked bag. Additional bags are considered excess baggage and are accepted at the airlines discretion. Customers can pre-pay for checked bags at HawaiianAirlines.com for a discounted rate ($23 for the first and $32 for the second checked bag).
For passengers traveling within the Hawaiian islands, the fee for the first checked bag is $10 and $17 for the second.
Baggage for flights purchased prior to January 21, 2010 may be eligible for a lower checked bag fee; contact the airline for more details.
Car seats, bassinets, infant carrying seats or strollers will be checked for no fee, unless the passenger has already checked two pieces of luggage. - Each Hawaiian Airlines passenger is allowed one piece of carry-on baggage and one personal item. ("Personal items" include bags such as purses, briefcases or computer bags.) Carry-on baggage must be less than 45 linear inches, or 9-inches-by-14-inches-by-22-inches and weigh 25 lbs or less.
The carry-on limitation does not include items such as pocketbooks, overcoats, umbrellas, reading materials, baby food, or collapsible wheelchairs or other prosthetic devices, which may all be carried on to the flight freely.
If a flight is particularly full, the airline may ask you to check your carry-on baggage, if you are unable to store under the seat in front of you and the overhead storage compartment is full. - "Oversized" baggage is subject to different fees and regulations than normal baggage. An "oversized" piece of luggage is one between 62 to 80 inches, weighing less than 50 lbs. The charge for such a piece of baggage varies by item; contact the airline for more specific information.
You will be charged $50 for baggage weighing between 50 to 70 lbs. (The airline will not accept items larger than this.)
