In this article, I'd like to briefly go over three KEY MISTAKES newbie bloggers make that could affect their potential to make some dollars from blogging...
TRY TO AVOID THESE...
1) Monetising too early...
If you monetise your blog from the start that is fine, but try NOT to litter your website with banners, text links, and advertorial posts.
In the very early stages of a blog you want to focus on valuable content, then you can build up to maximising your blog's FRONT END REVENUE...
If you can try to build a list while you are doing this from the start...
2) CONSTANTLY CHANGING BLOG THEMES...
With the thousands of Wordpress themes on the market, both FREE and PAID, it can be a tough one choosing a theme.
If you are constantly switching themes, regular visitors will be annoyed and could put them off your brand.
Stick with a theme, and if you feel the need for a change, do it about EVERY SIX TO TWELVE MONTHS...
3) NO CLEAR PURPOSE OF DIRECTION...
Do you know what you are doing blogging? Is this a subject you really like? Is this the right niche for you? These are all questions that should be answered before you start a website or blog.
If you DON'T write down your goals, objectives you may end up going off at a tangent...
When picking a niche, you should be clear that it maybe best to find a sub niche within that main niche..
..
For example, my blog POYP is not just food in the round, it is about CITIZEN FOOD JOURNALISM - and that is a sub niche within the niche of food...
So THINK carefully about what niche you want to enter, and what may WORK in that niche...
