Unassembled

Definition:

A hobby-grade RC vehicle that is unassembled usually has to be built from the ground up using the supplied parts and instructions and your own tools. Some RCs come in kits that might be partially built but usually still require a lot of assembly before they can be used.

Some unassembled RC kits come with everything you need while others may be only the chassis and body and you'll have to supply some or all of the electronics, including a motor and a radio system.

The Starter Kits for Radio Shack XMODS are partially unassembled -- various parts of the body have to be screwed together and the tires and wheels have to be put on. Other RC kits come with the chassis, drivetrain, motor, and other internal parts unassembled.
