  • 1). Remove the coffee basket.

  • 2). Unscrew the spray head located above the basket holder and set it aside.

  • 3). Insert all but two inches of the Bunn de-liming tool into the spray head tube. Depending on the level of calcification, insertion may require a great deal of force.

  • 4). Slide the tool back and forth five or six times to loosen any lime deposits and then remove carefully.

  • 5). Replace the coffee basket and place the coffee pot underneath it.

  • 6). Fill the reservoir with bottled or purified water.

  • 7). Run the water through the coffee maker without the spray head to clear any loose deposits from the system.

  • 8). Inspect the spray head. If the holes appear clogged, clean the holes with a toothpick.

  • 9). Hold the spray head underneath a running faucet and inspect the water flow out of the spray head.

  • 10

Soak the spray head in white vinegar for 30 minutes to remove any internal deposits, if water does not flow out of the spray head evenly.
