How Many Attempts Should You Make When Prospecting?

Plenty of people that I know have problems in figuring out how many attempts they should make when prospecting.
We all have or had questions in our minds about how many attempts we should make, especially a "hot" lead! What I would like to do is give some insight on how many attempts you should make when prospecting.
When you have a "hot" lead you really, really feel like you need to have them in your business.
Your elimination process in your attempts in prospecting will be much simpler if your lead is interested.
When attempting to prospect someone initially make sure to find out something about them, like their needs & wants.
The interest level that your lead shows will help you tremendously! For example, you just had a wonderful conversation with a lead & you attempt to let them know about your business.
The person that you're attempting to get in your business then informs you on their needs & wants.
The prospect then seems interested in what you have to offer.
MAKE SURE TO FOLLOW-UP! The lead is "hot" & your follow-ups should be shorter now.
If you don't follow up, your lead will get "cold" or someone else will get them! After the first attempt, don't give up because your prospect didn't respond like they did initially.
They may have had a bad day or anything could have happened.
After your second, third, etc.
attempt don't get discouraged if you lead doesn't respond.
Prospects aren't usually ready for what you have to offer until you have attempted to contact them in some form on average of 5-7 times.
5-7 attempts on prospecting is an average so don't get frustrated, just remember these numbers.
After attempting to prospect, you may just feel as if the person isn't interested anymore.
Just let them breathe.
You have to let people breathe if they don't seem interested when prospecting simply because it just may not be a good time for them.
Always remember that when attempting to inform someone on your business, their lack of interest usually isn't because of YOU! When there is a lack of interest on your attempts at prospecting, ask them if you can follow up a month or two later.
Your lead will appreciate your understanding.
Remember when prospecting there aren't any certain amount of attempts you should make when you feel that you have a "hot" lead.
Some prospects may really be interested but if you don't follow up, someone else may get to them! After you've attempted to follow up with your lead a few times & you get no response, let them breathe.
The timing may not be right, that's all.
Hopefully I've been able to shine some light on how many attempts you should make when prospecting.
