Men Can Get Yeast Infections Too

Okay, all you men out there.
Today we're going to discuss the common male malady of yeast infections.
Oh, so you didn't think men could get yeast infections? But they can and do happen, and the resulting symptoms are no fun at all.
The reason that most people link yeast infections with women is due to the media blitz of advertisements about medications to treat them.
From this, almost everyone got the impression that yeast infections only occur in the vagina, and this is absolutely not true.
You'll become a believer quickly if you wake up some morning with a sore, red penis that itches like crazy.
Get it through your heads, guys, that you don't need a vagina in order to get a yeast infection.
Yeast infections happen because some internal change causes a growth in the natural fungi, Candida albicans, which we all have in our bodies.
Under the right conditions, this yeast fungus will turn to mold and start a yeast infection, and it doesn't care if you're male or female.
These infections can happen anywhere on your body, too.
In men, infections can happen anywhere, and the symptoms will vary depending on the location of the break-out.
However, men in general are most concerned about anything that affects their penises, so we'll focus on penis yeast infection.
Although this condition usually causes no symptoms in healthy men, in can manifest itself in symptoms such as a yellow-to-white discharge, pain following intercourse, and a reddened tip dotted with patches of white.
As we mentioned before, there may be no symptoms at all with male yeast infections.
However, if symptoms do appear, you need to have them checked out by a doctor.
Those same symptoms can be indicative of other, more severe, health problems.
There are times when men need to see a doctor even if they are experiencing no symptoms.
If you have intercourse with a woman who is infected, it's quite likely that she'll pass the infection along to you.
If your partner seems to have chronic yeast infections, it's probably you that's causing her problems.
Without the proper treatment, yeast infections can be passed back and forth from partner to partner for years.
So if either of you thinks they are suffering from a yeast infection, it's best for both of you to see a doctor and get treated before you have sex again.
Ways to treat and prevent yeast infection in males are as follows: * Clean the area with mild soap and use non-irritating powder to keep the area dry.
* Wear loose clothing, and make sure it remains dry.
* Tea Tree Oil or Garlic Oil can be applied to the area 2x daily for up to a week.
* Wear condoms during sex.
Keeping your immune system healthy will go a long way in preventing male yeast infections.
The things you need to do is eat a healthy diet, exercise regularly, and avoid excessive use of alcohol, drugs, steroids, and antibiotics.
This will help keep your immune system strong and healthy so that it can keep the yeast population in your body under control.
