How to Lift & Move a Hot Tub
- 1). Unplug the tub and disconnect any other electrical connections.
- 2). Drain the tub, based on the manufacturer's directions, and suction out any existing water from the tub, plumbing lines, jets or drain with a wet/dry vacuum. Wipe the interior completely dry with a towel. Tighten the drain cap.
- 3). Wrap and secure any cords.
- 4). Roll the dollies and position them near the hot tub. Lay down plywood sheets along the moving path, if it's not a flat, paved area. Use plywood sheets large enough to provide a surface for the dollies to roll along.
- 5). Position at least two people on each end of the hot tub on just one side.
- 6). Lift both corners of one end of the hot tub up and position the tub on its side.
- 7). Position a 4-foot by 4-foot piece of plywood next to the hot tub and lift the tub on top of the plywood to support it and give it a base upon which you can slide it.
- 8). Place one dolly in front of the hot tub and one in the back.
- 9). Lift the tub slightly and roll the dollies underneath.
- 10
Move the tub slowly and carefully to the moving truck or its new location.
