How to Wear a Flag Patch
- 1). Select a flag patch that is in full color. Although some military uniforms use flag patches that are tan or gray for camouflage purposes, everyone else should display the flag in its intended colors of red, white and blue.
- 2). Decide where you are going to place the flag patch. The patch may be worn on the left or right side. It should always be worn with the star field facing forward; if you are wearing it on the right side of your body, you can purchase a "reverse side flag" so that it faces the appropriate direction.
- 3). Maintain the condition of your flag patch. It is disrespectful to display a flag that is torn or stained; as a representation of the flag, you should follow the same rules of display for your patch. If it becomes ripped, frayed or stained, you should remove it from your clothing.
