How to Modify Cursors in Windows XP
- 1). Open the Control Panel and double-click the "Mouse" icon in Classic View. In Category View, first select "Printers and Other Hardware." Click on the "Pointers" tab.
- 2). Click on the Scheme drop-down menu and select an option from the list. View the schemes settings in the Customize section. Each scheme contains options for each of the fifteen types of cursors used by Windows XP. Some schemes use larger cursors for increased visibility, while others add animations or interesting cursor shapes.
- 3). Change a specific cursor type in the scheme by selecting it and clicking the "Browse" button. Select an available cursor in the pop-up window and click "Open" to use that cursor. Windows comes with many cursors pre-installed that are not part of any cursor scheme. You must manually select these cursors to use them.
- 4). Click the "Save As" button to save your customized scheme for later use.
- 5). Click "Apply" to change your cursor settings, and "OK" to save and close the window when finished.
