How to Erase a GPT Protected Disk in Windows XP

    • 1). Click "Start" and click "Run."

    • 2). Type "cmd" and press "Enter."

    • 3). Type "Diskpart", press "Enter," type "list disk", and press "Enter."

    • 4). Type "select x" and press "Enter," replacing "x" with the letter of the protected partition.

    • 5). Type "clean" to remove GPT from the disk.

    • 6). Click "Start," right-click "Computer," select "Manage," and select "Disk Management." Right-click the GPT partition and select "Initialize Disk" to erase its contents.
