Are you in need of IRS debt relief? Do you feel like there is just no way you can pay your back taxes? Are you a good person who would pay your taxes if you could afford them? I want to share my mistakes and how I was able to find the help to get out of my seemingly hopeless tax problem.

IRS Debt Relief

I guess if there is one lesson I learned from my tax issue it is to never try to do it alone or try to negotiate a settlement with the IRS by yourself!

My husband and I have owned a small business for 19 years. We have always made money but it wasn't always enough to pay our bills, employees and our taxes. We wanted to pay them, it is just that there was not enough money and we started falling behind and it got worse as the years past.

We were contacted by IRS and they offered us a deal. We were given a120 days extension to pay as much of the tax debt as we could and then they were going to settle with us for the remaining amount and put us on a payment plan.

Well we scrimped and put off paying other bills and managed to send them $8,000 over the 3 month period and what did they do? At the end of the 120 days they decided to assess us $8,000 in interest and penalties! We gave them $8,000 and did not reduce our IRS debt by a penny! We could not believe this, in no way were we ever told that these penalties would be added on!

Do not try to settle with the IRS by yourself, this made our situation much worse because now not only were we out $8,000 but we were falling behind on our bills because we tried so hard to put money toward the tax problem.

This was when we needed help. That day I got online and found a tax consulting company and filled out their short form that explained our current situation. By the end of the day I had been contacted by a consultant who understood the IRS and what just happened to me and was able to file the right paperwork for me. I never again had to talk directly to the IRS.

We ended up settling for a fraction of the original cost because my tax consultant was able to get the late fees, penalties and interest all but wiped out.

My advice is to stop putting this off. Don't call the IRS to settle this problem, instead contact a tax consultant online, it is quick and it is not intimidating and you will get them to handle your problem.
