Copenhagen Airport Aims To Be Best

Copenhagen's international airport has gained several international awards in recent years owing to its efficient service. Receiving the awards, however, does not mean the management should just sit back and relax from their efforts to further improving the airport's environment and service to passengers. In fact, the international recognition has inspired the airport officials to work more for the improvement of the facility.

Currently, the Copenhagen Airport is in a partnership with Scandinavian Airlines Systems or SAS, one of the world's major airlines. The cooperation between the two groups aims to provide shorter travel time, access to more than 40 extra daily connections with SAS airlines and better airport facility condition to more than 200,000 passengers each year. The end goal of this tie-up is to eventually make the Copenhagen Airport one of the best transfer airports in the world and the top international traffic center in the northern part of Europe.

What is being worked out now is to make the transfer time from one aircraft to another shorter from the usual 40 minutes to only half an hour. This is being targeted on several SAS connections in the Scandinavian region.

With this new development, not only will the visitors to Denmark benefit but as well as those looking for jobs in Denmark. The CEO of Copenhagen Airports Brian Petersen said their partnership has the potential of providing some 60,000 to 70,000 jobs in Denmark. He added that they are bent on making the Danish capital's airport as attractive as it can be to the international community and to promote tourism and business in the Oresund Region.

Copenhagen welcomes some 2.5 million visitors each year. This figure is not surprising as Denmark's capital has so much to offer in terms of tourist attractions and jobs to people visiting from the different parts of the globe.
