Songbird is an alternative media manager for PCs and Macs that by default is not compatible with iPods, but can be configured for iPod synchronization by downloading a plug-in. Once the plug-in is downloaded and installed on your computer, plug the iPod's USB cable into the bottom of the iPod and plug the other end of the cable into your computer's USB port. Click the iPod tab in the Songbird sidebar, and click the "Music" tab. Select the box next to "Sync" and select "All music, videos and playlists." Click the "Save" button to begin the sync.

Download and install the program, and connect your iPod to the computer using the USB cable. Run the CopyTrans Manager program, and locate your music tracks in Windows Explorer by double-clicking the Windows Explorer icon on your desktop. Drag and drop the tracks from Windows Explorer to CopyTrans Manager. The program will automatically add the music to your iPod Red.
