    • 1). Install the OpenSSH application from either the Cydia store or Installer.app on your jailbroken iPhone.

    • 2). Open WinSCP on your computer and click on the "Session" tab of the log-in dialog box.

    • 3). Enter the IP address of your iPhone in the "Host Name" field on the Session Tab. You'll find this information by clicking on your iPhone's Settings menu and selecting Wi-Fi. Tap the name of your wireless network to view your IP address and other connection details.

    • 4). Enter "root" into the username field. The password will be either "alpine" or "dottie," depending on the firmware version you're using. If the first password you try doesn't work, try logging in with the alternate one.

    • 5). Double-check that you selected "SFTP" as the file protocol. It is the default selection in WinSCP, so if you haven't made any changes to your specifications, it should already be set up properly.

    • 6). Click on the "Connection Tab" and increase the length of the server response time. Although not mandatory, this will give the program more time to establish a connection between your iPhone and your computer.

    • 7). Click "Save" to save your WinSCP changes. This will store your session for future connections between your iPhone and computer.

    • 8). Turn off auto-lock on your iPhone so that you won't lose your Wi-Fi connection while you're connected to WinSCP. You can adjust the auto-lock settings for your iPhone by tapping the Settings icon and selecting "General." You'll find the auto-lock settings here.
