Kids Who Have Recesses Are Better Students

I am an advocate of kids getting enough fresh air.
During the school year, they are mostly inside breathing stale air like we do working in an office or at home.
There is a new study released emphasizing that kids who have recesses at school make better students.
Classes start at 8:30 or so in the morning and lasting until lunch time without a break in a kid's schedule.
Most kids have to sit quietly at their desk so the teacher can teach.
I know when I have to sit in a meeting for 4 hours my attitude toward the whole meeting changes.
I need a break.
Even when we drive on trips, the "rule of the road" is for every 50 minutes we drive, we need to stop at a rest area, service station or eating break and stretch, stretch and stretch before we get back under the wheel of a car.
Why?It makes us more alert and keeps us safer.
Kids learn as much on their recess breaks as they do sitting at their desk and being quiet.
Many problems are solved on the playground with kids by other kids.
Take the time and find out if your school system have recess break for the kids for at least once a day for 20 or more minutes.
Physical activity needs to be a part of a recess.
Kids have recess in their daily schedule behave better in school and are better students.
When I pick up my grandson from school at the end of the day I ask "what did you do today?" He gets excited when he said "We got to go outside for recess today.
"It is important to the kids and their mental adaption to all they have to learn from their teachers.
And, I believe the teachers need a break as well to keep their sanity.
If your kid's school does not provide outside recess (when weather permits) don't forget to bring your kid home and let them play outside before sitting down to do their homework.
