How to Install Windows XP on a Stand-Alone PC
- 1). Turn your computer on and immediately insert the Windows XP disk. It should say "press any key to boot from disk." Do so.
- 2). You will be asked to agree to license terms. Do so by pressing F8.
- 3). Windows Setup will ask you where to install the software. Install it to your primary hard drive. Continue to follow the on screen prompts in order to complete the installation.
- 4). Once your software has been installed, be sure to navigate to Windows Update and ensure that it is set to "ON." If you have an Internet connection, it will download all the latest software to make your computer more up to date.
