Any course in nursing is filled with pressure and most students feel the need to drop-out if it is too much for them.
Some will quit because they cannot take the heavy load and the many requirements especially of the ASN course.
However, if you feel that you cannot cope with your ASN course, how can you expect to cope with the real day to day job of a nursing professional? When you feel that you are over your head with all the tasks and requirements given by your professors, here are some tips to help you survive your nursing course and become successful: 1.
Avoid Cramming
It is just so tempting to just read, make projects or write notes the next day, or the next day.
One has to remember that cramming will do you no good.
Once you do this, the things that you did study will only remain in your mind for a short period of time.
You need to make sure that the nursing procedures stay with you even after nursing school.

Join Study Groups
When you have a buddy to help you with the nursing course, it can be more encouraging and motivating for you.
So, it is highly recommended that you join study groups.
But make sure that these study groups will help you develop a healthy habit of learning and not make you feel more pressured because you have to have a certain grade point average.

Develop a Relationship with Your Professors
Your professors are considered expert on the different nursing topics, so it is best that you develop a mentor relationship with them.
They can encourage you and help you make the right choices for your nursing career.
They may also be connected with different hospitals that can help you gain more experience when it comes to the clinical skills that you need to develop.
Plus, if you have many questions and you are unsure of certain nursing procedures, then you can easily approach them ask for their help.
Being a nursing student has its ups and downs.
There will be a lot of times that you will feel pressure because of the many requirements that you need to finish and pass before you become an ASN nurse.
However, it does not mean that you are alone in this endeavour.
In fact, there are many people that are willing to help you succeed and become an excellent nurse someday.
