    • 1). Choose "Start" and then click on "Run." Type in "regedit" (with no quotes) and press "Enter" to open the Registry Editor.

    • 2). Navigate to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU" in the left side of the Registry Editor window. Locate the key named "NoAutoUpdate" on the right side of the window.

    • 3). Right-click on "NoAutoUpdate" and choose "Modify."

    • 4). Change the value of "NoAutoUpdate" to 0 to enable automatic updates.

    • 5). Close the Registry Editor. Reboot the computer for the changes to take effect.
