How to Enable Automatic Updates in the Registry

1). Choose "Start" and then click on "Run." Type in "regedit" (with no quotes) and press "Enter" to open the Registry Editor.
2). Navigate to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU" in the left side of the Registry Editor window. Locate the key named "NoAutoUpdate" on the right side of the window.
3). Right-click on "NoAutoUpdate" and choose "Modify."
4). Change the value of "NoAutoUpdate" to 0 to enable automatic updates.
5). Close the Registry Editor. Reboot the computer for the changes to take effect.
