No matter how bad it seems now, I am here to tell you that you can get your ex back.
I don't want to instill false hope in your head, I am not saying you will.
I am saying you can, but only if you follow the right steps to do so.
Sometimes the advice offered might seem strange or even stupid, but if you have just broken up you are probably not thinking straight right now.
What you need is some objective advice from someone who doesn't know you or your ex, but knows how you are feeling right now.
Here are some things not to do.
1.
Don't worry too much if your ex starts seeing someone else.
This is a rebound relationship and they don't last.
The person your ex is dating will realize this and end it or your ex will realize it is going nowhere.
And it will also give your ex a base with which to measure how good your relationship was.
They will soon be thinking about you a lot as they compare you to their "temporary" partner.
2.
Don't hide yourself away.
Part of the process to get your ex back focuses solely on you and tending to your needs.
It might seem selfish, but you have to get out and socialize and have a good time.
Concentrate on making yourself feel good.
This is fantastic therapy and works in a number of ways.
You meet new people so you have new experiences and new things to talk about.
Your self-esteem grows.
Your ex gets to know about you going out and partying and wants a piece of the action.
3.
Don't lie to yourself about who was to blame.
You will get nowhere fast in your quest to get your ex back if you insist on laying the blame completely at either partner's door.
This will lead to bias in the make-up process and the new relationship will not start on an equal level.
Be honest with yourself and determine which areas resulted in the break-up and what each of you can do to stop them happening again.
Breaking up can be hard, but it doesn't have to be forever.
Make sure you stay calm and think about a plan to get your ex back.
