    Quick Trace

    • 1). Create a "New Layer" in a CorelDraw X5 document and import the target bitmap image to the new layer. Reading the image resolution and color character (color, grayscale, or monochrome), Quick Trace uses default settings to generate the image.

    • 2). Select "Quick Trace" from the "Bitmap" menu.

    • 3). Create a new layer and move the "Group" created by Quick Trace to the new layer for editing.

    • 4). Un-group the vector image created by Quick Trace and edit as necessary.

    Centerline Trace

    • 1). Create a "New Layer" in a CorelDraw X5 document and import the target bitmap image to the new layer. Centerline Trace is used for monochrome line drawings, such as a technical drawing.

    • 2). Select "Centerline Trace" from the "Bitmap" menu when the "Power Trace" dialog box opens.

    • 3). View the traced results in the "Preview" list box, and use the controls to the right to make any necessary adjustments. "Detail" allows you to adjust the size of the vector by decreasing detail, which reduces the number of lines and nodes, or increasing detail, which adds more lines and nodes to increase accuracy.

    Outline Trace

    • 1). Select "Outline Trace" from the "Bitmap" menu when the "Power Trace" dialog box opens.

    • 2). Choose the type of bitmap being traced. CorelDraw Power Trace offers presets for line art, logo, detailed logo, clipart, low quality images and high-quality images.

    • 3). View the traced results in the "Preview" list box, and use the controls to the right to make any necessary adjustments. "Detail" allows you to adjust the size of the vector by decreasing detail, which reduces the number of lines and nodes, or increasing detail by adding more lines and nodes to increase accuracy. "Smoothing" adjusts curved line accuracy and the number of nodes within an arc. "Corner Smoothness" works with "Smoothing" to improve accuracy on corners. Low settings retain the corners as shown in the preview window, high settings smooth the corner.
