- 5). Switch to the "Advanced" tab in the new pop-up menu. You can now see the amount of virtual memory your computer has. According to Microsoft.com, your virtual memory is 1.5 times the amount of hard RAM you have.
- 6). To increase your virtual memory, click on "Change" to set the virtual memory to a higher value. If you have a large hard drive, you can alter the virtual memory by 3 to 4 times. If you have a smaller hard drive, you can see a noticeable difference by only doubling your virtual memory.
