How to Find a Software Key
- 1). Examine the installation disc for your software. Many developers will print the software key directly on the CD-ROM.
- 2). Look carefully through the manual that was included with your program. Software keys can often be found on the front or back cover of the user guide.
- 3). Check the DVD or CD case for a sticker with the product key. This sticker can usually be found somewhere on your computer if you are trying to locate a software key for pre-installed software.
- 4). Contact the software company's customer support department, and ask them for a replacement key if you are unable to locate the one that came with your software. You may need to provide personal information or pay a fee to receive a new software key, but many companies keep records of registered software and can provide you with your original software key.
