Hi, my name is Kristina Kuzmic from KristinaKuzmic.com. And today, I want to talk to you about how you can add fiber to homemade bread. So, when you find a recipe for bread that you like, look at the amount of white flour. And you're going to substitute a quarter of that with something higher in fiber, like for example, whole wheat flour. So, if the recipe calls for two cups of white flour, for example, you're going to do one and a half cups of white flour and half a cup of whole wheat flour. You can also add other ingredients that are really high in fiber, like bran, or I like to use flaxseed meal which is really, really healthy. And you can also add oats. And I like to not only add oats in my dough, but I like to kind of top my dough with it. So, I'm going to show you, I have some dough here that's been rising, and a bread pan.And I'm just going to sort of place this in here. This is obviously going to need to rise once again. but before I put it to rise, I'm going to add some oats right on top like that, kind of just press it into the dough. Then, you're going to cover this, I usually cover it with plastic wrap first and then, a cloth, let that rise again. And then, you're going to end up with a nice loaf of bread. And you're going to notice all the colors in there from flaxseed meal and whole wheat four and oats, it's going to be really healthy. Now, one quick tip, you cannot substitute all the whole wheat flour for the white flour because you're going to have to adjust the amount of moisture and other ingredients. So, if you want to make a 100 percent whole wheat bread, make sure you find a recipe for that and don't try to make the substitutions yourself. I'm Kristina Kuzmic, thanks for watching, have a great day.
