The security of both your machine and your information is key these days, and that is why so many computer owners choose to install virus protection as soon as they get their computers. After all, its essential to get up and running online, isnt it? Its also why so many people get confused when they see a virus protection program pop up on their computers suggesting they have serious infection problems. Lots click on the buttons hoping to fix the problem, but if Personal Security is the name of the protections software you see on the machine, the problem isnt with your computer, but with the program itself.

What Is Personal Security?

Most people know about viruses and how they can damage your computer, but few know about rogue security software, and thats exactly what this program is. These programs like to suggest that your computer has bigger problems than you may be aware of. They may even suggest that your computer has malware issues. Not familiar with malware? Its short for malicious software, and it can be intrusive, hostile, and sometimes annoying as well. Often its installed without your knowledge or consent, and it can be very dangerous. Personal security, and programs like it, often suggest youre infested with malware to help increase the chances that youll purchase the full version of the program.

The Personal Security program is tricky because it looks very much like a real security tool. If it pops up on your computer, you may believe that it is truly a program that you have installed on your computer to work as an anti-virus and anti-spyware program. Thats likely because the designers of the program designed it to look like a real security tool, known as Cyber Security. Because it looks just like this well-known and trustworthy program, many people click on the buttons on the program, believing that it will help them to get rid of the problem files that the Personal Security program says that they have.

That is where the bigger issues being, though. The Personal Security program will pop up and will tell you that your computer is infected with any number of viruses or malware programs. And, of course, most computer owners will want to do everything they can to get rid of these programs as quickly as they can. There are a number of things you may notice if the program is installed on your machine. Initially, you might just notice an overall slowdown in the way your machine works. This is frustrating for many, but as time goes on, you might begin to notice some pop ups that suggest your computer itself is at risk. The confusing thing for many individuals is that the pop ups look like notifications from your machine like the ones you get when theres an update available. Its important to note that experts have seen several variations on this text, so if yours doesnt say exactly the same thing, you may still have this program installed on your computer.

In addition to the pop ups, youll probably also notice scan windows appearing at random to let you know which security risks youre facing.

Is My Personal Security at Stake?

Removing Personal Security is essential, and the program is a bit of a nuisance. If your computer does have it installed, youll know it fairly quickly, as the program will pop up whenever you click out of it. You cant shut it down and you cant get rid of it by uninstalling it, as there generally is no place for you to uninstall it, like would be for a genuine antivirus program. The big problem, however, comes when the program is clicked on and then when it may send some of your personal information onto the internet for others to access. That is why it is never recommended to click on any of the buttons that youll see on the Personal Security malware, as this can cause you to have a much bigger problem then you currently have.

As with most rogue security programs, Personal Security is extremely annoying, and it does create the potential for some security holes down the road.
