Tick Infestation Organic Removal
- Peppermint oil can be used to treat tick infestations. Peppermint oil can be purchased from most natural food stores or any local supermarket that sells vitamin supplements.
Place the peppermint oil along your baseboards and around doorways. It can also be used on any small cracks in the flooring or foundation where the ticks may be entering. Peppermint oil is safe to put on legs of your pets if they are going outside to prevent ticks from clinging to their skin when the pet returns indoors. - Cedar oil is the natural oil that is taken from cedar trees. You can purchase cedar oil at most home improvement or pet stores. You can dilute the solution by mixing two thirds cedar oil and one third rubbing alcohol. Spray this solution along walls, floors, and entry ways, everywhere that you have seen ticks. Allow the solution to sit for several hours before rinsing away with hot water. Vacuum all carpeted areas and wash all bedding. You can apply a light spray of cedar oil to floors and doorways and even on your pets to keep the ticks away.
- Rose geranium oil is a useful tool to treat tick infestation and supply your home with a nice floral scent. It is available for purchase anywhere vitamin supplements are sold. Take the rose geranium oil and apply it to all baseboards and areas around doors and windows along with any cracks or crevices that may be allowing tick entry. Once you have done that, pour a bottle of geranium oil into a spray bottle and add eight to ten ounces of hot water to the oil. Walking around the outside of your home spray the concoction onto the shrubs and highly dense grassy areas. You can apply the solution onto your pets as well to prevent ticks from entering your home through your pets.
- Repeat the process as needed to remove all the ticks from your home. Explore the ticks' mode of entry (e.g., a pet or through a broken screen) and fix that problem. When working with any repellent or other cleaning product, use proper safety precautions and ensure adequate ventilation.
