How to Fix XP With a CD
- 1). Insert the Windows XP boot CD into your computer's CD-ROM drive, and then restart the computer.
- 2). Press any key to start the boot process when the boot screen appears. Wait for the "To setup Windows XP now" message and then press "Enter."
- 3). Ignore the "Recover" prompt and then press "F8" to accept the license agreement, and then press "R" to repair the operating system.
- 4). Press "Enter" to follow the prompts. There should be three prompts, which ask you to confirm your intent to repair and will ask you about the drive you want to repair. A status bar will then pop up showing the repair progress. When the repair operation finishes, the computer will automatically restart.
