How to Remove a Windows Genuine Certification
- 1). Turn on your computer and press "F8" during boot-up.
- 2). Choose "Safe Mode with Networking" and press "Enter."
- 3). Open up "My Computer" and then open the "C:" folder, then open the Windows folder. From here, open the "System32" folder.
- 4). Locate the file "WgaTray.exe" and delete it. Find the folder "Dllcache" and delete the same file (WgaTray.exe) there as well.
- 5). Close the Explorer window and click the Windows 'Start" button in the lower left-hand corner, then click "Run." Type in the word "regedit" and press Enter.
- 6). Navigate to the following location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\
Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Notify - 7). Right-click to delete the value and folder "WgaLogon."
- 8). Reboot your computer and the notifications will be gone!
