Microsoft Access is the database component of the Microsoft Office Suite. Getting certified in this product shows the industry that you are proficient in using this software and have met the global standards set forward by Microsoft. Some of these certifications are standalone while others are a part of an existing Microsoft certification track. Getting your certification demonstrates your initiative to potential employers. It displays your standardized skill set and may increase your earning potential. - The 2010 Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification is obtained by individuals who pass one of the nine exams about the Microsoft Office Suite. Access 2010 is one of the nine available. The exam that you would be required to pass is Exam 77-885.
- The 2007 MOS certification is obtained by individuals who pass one of the eight MOS exams on the Microsoft Office Suite. This certification proves your proficiency in the 2007 Suite and shows the industry you are a globally recognized leader. The exam that you would be required to pass to get Access certified is Exam 77-605.
- The 2003 Access MOS certification demonstrates your skill in the Office 2003 suite of Microsoft programs. Passing one of the five exams proves your ability in using the Office 2003 products and makes you a specialist.
- Becoming a Microsoft Office Master involves more than the traditional MOS track. It requires passing the three required exams for Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Once these three exams are passed, an additional test is required in Access 2003 or Outlook. So, passing the Access portion in conjunction Word, Excel, and PowerPoint exams makes you a MOS master.
