How to Make a Cocktail Party Invitation With Apple Pages '09
- 1
Launch Pages '09 from the icon on the dock. You can also locate the Pages icon in the iWork '09 folder in your Applications. - 2
Select "Cards & Invitations" from the page layout section of the Template Chooser window. - 3
Click on "Festive Invitation" and hit the "Choose" button. There is also a template for a more formal invitation. - 4
Double-click on the "You're Invited" text to change the wording if you want. You can also change the text color, the text style and the font itself. - 5
Click on the drop-down box that says "Bradley Hand I..." near the top left of the window. - 6
Select another font that appeals to you. Your text should now display in a different font. You can use this top menu bar to change the style (e.g. bold, underline, italic), size and color. - 7
Scroll down to the second page when the cover of your invitation is the way you want it. - 8
Double-click the title in red and type in a snappy title for your party. - 9
Replace the rest of the text with details about your party. Make sure to include the time, date and location. Pages '09 hooks up with your Address Book application and brings in your phone number automatically. - 10
Repeat Steps 5 to 7 to change the text color, font and style to your preferences. - 11
Print the first page on a heavyweight cardstock paper. - 12
Refeed the same sheet into your printer the other way around and print the second page so it prints on the reverse side of the paper. - 13
Fold your card in half and hand out to your friends!
