What is Love?
This article will be looking specifically at romantic love.
In my view, the love between a parent and child and vice versa is a given.
I will be looking at romantic love and whether you are lucky enough to have found it with your partner.
Ask yourself; do you really care for your partner? By this I mean do you feel protective and caring toward them as well as sexually attracted? If you do then you are on the road to discovering what real love is.
Do you care whether they are happy and contented or not.
If you find that you are always trying to find ways of making them happy, then you are definitely learning what real love is.
If you find that you are as interested in their dreams and ambitions as you are in your own, then you could be lucky enough to be about to discover what real love is.
When you are apart, do you not only miss them, are you constantly trying to find ways of making the time you do spend together better for you both? If you do, you are experiencing the beginnings of real love.
Just to miss someone is selfish; to prepare, so that your time together is special, is a sign of real love.
To experience real love, to understand what it is, you have to be prepared to take risks.
You have to make yourself vulnerable and expose yourself, and this can be very scary.
There are no guarantees that your partner will be thinking in the same way as you, and you could get hurt.
But if you are lucky enough to make a connection, and you discover what real love is, you can count yourself as one of the lucky few.
