How to Design a Tinkerbell Costume

    • 1). Cut across the bottom of the silk dress in a zigzag line so the seam falls above the knee of the intended Tinkerbell.

    • 2). Cut two 3-inch wide stars out of the white cardstock. Apply a thin layer of glue and cover the surface on both sides of each star with a generous amount of fine glitter. Let the stars dry, and then hot glue both stars on the same end of the dowel with the top of the stars pointing upward.

    • 3). Bend the wire coat hanger out into a straight line and then fold it over in the center. Twist the coat hanger so you have a figure eight, and twist the center again, pinching the wire so it holds in place. Stretch the panty hose over the wire. This will complete the fairy wings.

    • 4). Wrap the ribbon over both shoulders of Tinkerbell and find the point where the wings will rest on her back. Cut the ribbon at the appropriate length and hot glue the ends to the backside of the fairy wings to make the shoulder straps. Spray the entire surface of the wings with spray glue and sprinkle with the ultra-fine silver glitter.

    • 5). Put the other pair of pantyhose onto her legs. Spray lightly with spray glue and sprinkle the silver glitter over these as well. Add a pair of green flat slippers to her feet to complete the costume.
