How to Erase Windows Without Loading the CD

    • 1). Log in to your Windows operating system (not the one in the Windows XP partition you wish to erase) and open the Disk Management utility by clicking the Start button, choosing Run, typing "compmgmt.msc" in the text box, clicking "OK" and then clicking "Disk Management" in the left pane under "Storage."

    • 2). Right-click on the partition with the instance of Windows that you want to delete and select "Delete Partition" from the context menu.

    • 3). Click "Yes" when prompted to confirm the deletion. Your Windows partition is then erased. The resulting empty partition will be completely blank and ready for reformatting with an operating system or as a storage partition.
