Access

• 1). Shut down your computer, remove all the cables and open the case.
  
  
• 2). Carefully unplug all the wired connectors from your motherboard and label them so that you can properly reinstall them. You may also have to remove any cards from expansion slots to safely remove the motherboard.
  
  
• 3). Unscrew the motherboard from the computer case and remove the motherboard.
  
  
• 4). Remove the heat sink from the CPU. Make sure you disengage any retaining clips and remove the heat sink/fan assembly. Clean any thermal compound from the top of the CPU with alcohol.
  
  

Install

• 1). Apply new thermal compound to the top of the CPU and then attach the water block mounting bracket to the motherboard with the attached screws. The water block sits directly on top of the CPU, and the bracket mounts with screws that go through the motherboard, so you must have the appropriate kit for you motherboard.
  
  
• 2). Secure the water block to the CPU using the securing clips or tabs on the mounting bracket.
  
  
• 3). Reconnect all connectors and cards to the motherboard and screw the motherboard back into the computer case.
  
  
• 4). Install the cooling system reservoir and pump. These may come in a single external unit or may mount inside the case. Your cooling kit documentation will explain where and how these can be mounted. The reservoir sometimes mounts into an internal drive bay.
  
  
• 5). Attach hoses to connect the pump, reservoir and water block using the clamps supplied with the cooling kit.
  
  
• 6). Fill the reservoir and tilt your case back and forth to check for leaks. Make sure you use the solutions recommended by and provided with the cooling kit. Tighten clamps or replace hoses if necessary. When you are satisfied that there are no leaks, reconnect all the computer's external cabling and devices and turn the computer on.
  
  
• 7). Run the pump with the case open to check for leaks a final time before closing the case.
