Prevent overcrowding of new tricks and confusion to the new dog. Focus and practice on the new command within the week. Dogs have short learning span. You can't expect to spend an hour on the same repetitive action. Always keep tricks simple and practice regularly.

Training tricks should be fun, positive and rewarding experience for both of you and the dog. Other type of training can go into specialized training, specific obedience and safety training, protection, prevention for property destruction. Remember tricks are meant to be an enjoyable process so remove all the negative actions from it.
