How to Change the Photoshop CS2 Splash Screen
- 1). Close Photoshop CS2. Double-click "My Computer," then "Program Files," "Adobe," "Adobe Photoshop CS2," or navigate to the primary program folder if the program is located on a different drive.
- 2). Copy PSart.dll and paste it to the desktop. This is a backup to use if something goes wrong.
- 3). Open a resource editor such as ResEdit or Resource Hacker. (See Resources.) Select "File" and "Open." Navigate to the original PSart.dll and select it.
- 4). Download and open a resource editor, such as ResEdit or Resource Hacker. (See Resources.) Select "File" and "Open." Navigate to the original PSart.dll and select it.
- 5). Select "PNGF," then "Splashartfeather.png" and "1033." Click on "Action" and choose "Save Resource as Binary File." Save the file to the location of your choice as a PNG file.
- 6). Close the resource editor. Open Photoshop CS2 and edit the file. Do not change the image dimensions.
- 7). Close Photoshop CS2 and open the resource editor. Open "PSart.dll." Navigate to "1033."
- 8). Select "Replace Resource," then "Open File With New Resource." Select the edited image and click "Replace." Save the file and close the resource editor.
- 9). Open Photoshop CS2. Check the splash screen. If it still needs editing, repeat the steps.
