Caipirissima

A caipirissima is essentially the same type of drink as a caipirinha, except the latter cocktail is mixed with cachaça (a spirit made with fresh sugarcane) instead of rum. Cut a fresh lime, rind and all, into eighths and put it in a rocks glass. Add 1/2 oz. simple syrup. Use a muddler or a spoon to muddle the lime with the sugar. (This means you mash the lime and syrup together with the tool.) Add 1 oz. white rum and 1/4 oz. lime juice. Top the drink with crushed ice and stir it with a drink stirrer.

Cuba Libre

The Cuba Libre is more commonly known as rum and Coke. The drink was invented after the Spanish American war to celebrate Cuba's freedom. Fill an 8-oz. glass with ice. Add 2 oz. white rum. Slice a lime in half and squeeze the juice from one of the lime's halves into the glass. Fill the glass to the top with cola and mix the cocktail with a drink stirrer. Garnish with a lime wedge.

All Puckered Out

All Puckered Out, which is variation on the Sour Apple Martini, is a rather sweet drink since it contains schnapps, a liqueur that contains sugar and, typically, a fruit flavor. Fill an 8-oz. glass with ice. Add 1 1/2 oz. sour apple schnapps and fill the rest of the glass with ginger ale. Mix the cocktail with a drink stirrer and garnish it with a lime wedge.

Lady Godiva

The Lady Godiva is named after the famous woman who rode naked through the streets of Coventry on a dare from her husband. Fill an 8-oz. drink shaker with ice. Cut one lime in half and squeeze the juice from one lime half into the shaker. Cut one lemon into half, then cut it into quarters. Squeeze the juice from one lemon quarter into the shaker. Add two dashes of triple sec and 1 tsp. granulated white sugar. Put the lid on the shaker, shake the ingredients, remove the lid, sit a drink strainer on top of the shaker and strain the contents into an 8-oz. glass filled with ice. Fill the rest of the glass with brandy and serve.
